Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers is the result of the union of two villages, Saint-Mathieu on the heights near the Château de Montferrand, and Tréviers in the plain. Our village, which has attracted many small businesses, has become a small town in the heart of the renowned vineyards of the Pic Saint-Loup, in a natural environment close to the Cevennes, which invites you to enjoy beautiful hiking, especially on the GRP® Tours en Grand Pic Saint-Loup elected "GR® preferred by the French in 2021".
The Grand Pic Saint-Loup, labeled "Territoire engagé pour la Nature" (Territory committed to nature), brings together 36 municipalities united by the desire to preserve an exceptional natural territory, a mosaic of landscapes dotted with high quality vineyards, where hills, garrigues, valleys and gorges carved by numerous rivers mingle.
Voted GR favorite in 2021 by the French, it is composed of 4 loops of 49 to 73 km, for a total route of 245 km. Each loop, one of which passes through Saint-Jean-de-Cuculles, allows you to discover the territory from a different angle: villages of character, wine-growing landscapes, Buèges and the foothills of the Cévennes as far as Brissac, or Séranne and the Hérault Gorges, with a detour through Saint-Guilhem-de-Désert.
